With an English father and an Argentine mother, Gordon has always had one foot either side of the Atlantic. After qualifying as an engineer he worked in Chile, followed by further periods in the UK and overseas in Africa. Working in Peru for six years during the 1980s, both with the government and churches, he was present at the meeting when the ministry of ‘Paz y Esperanza’ was launched under the umbrella of the Evangelical Council of Peru (CONEP) in 1984. Little did he think that more than 30 years later he would still be involved with them. Returning to the UK he became the Head of Region for Latin America & the Caribbean for Tearfund UK for 17 years, working with church leaders and Christian NGOs in many countries. Peru and PyE were high on that list. Retiring in 2007 he joined forces with Graham Gordon to launch the UK arm of PyE and continues as a Trustee with responsibilities for communications with supporters and local churches. Married to Angela who shares the interest in Latin America and who was for many years a Trustee of the mission Latin Link.
